Then I used Dubbin It consists of natural wax, oil and tallow and I wipe the rope with a saturated cloth. This waterproofs it and stops it drying out. The rope will stretch but after I have taken it down 48hoursI leave it for a month to dry. By then it ready to use. Optimum stretch of the rope has been reached.
